DBC Mission Group
We have a small group who co-ordinate communication with the church congregation, think about strategy for mission both locally and further afield, and plan mission-focused services and other events.
The aims of the mission group include:
ensuring that mission remains high on the church agenda so that as a church we will be aware of local, national, world & world church issues;
encouraging and challenging the congregation in mission so that each person will consider their mission activities through prayer, giving and going;
broadening our understanding of mission so that DBC could be described as a missionary congregation or church;
co-operating with the Rugby and Wolston Baptist Churches in our support for mission and in planning events that stimulate interest in mission.
The BMS Brazil Sao Paulo Action Team visited our Region and helped local Baptist churches during the week beginning 27th April 2009. They shared their experiences about their time spent in Brazil from October 2008 till March 2009. They led the evening service at DBC on Sunday 3rd May 2009. It was an encouragement to us all.
