What is Christianity?
You may be surprised. Among other things it is having fun and enjoying life – but not playing games. Being a Christian is more than a pastime!
To some people Christianity is:
a way of life – but not their life
To some people Christianity is:
culture & tradition – in need of change
To some people Christianity is:
simply irrelevant
What do you think and how do you know?
The word "Christianity" is used in many ways. The founder of Christianity – Jesus Christ – said that He had been sent to bring "life in all its fullness".
That sounds like: Something we could all be interested in. Something more than culture & tradition. Something relevant. Something to think about. Jesus said that this kind of life comes from knowing God. But can anyone really know God?
Sometimes it is as though God is there, but we just can't touch him.
Christianity, based on the world's best selling book, The Bible, says that we were created by God, and that he is our source of life. It says that we have turned away from him, and suffer the consequences. Some other faiths say much the same thing - but what is the answer? The good news is that there is a way back to God - through Jesus.
Christianity says that Jesus bridged the gap when he came to earth because he was both God and human.
Jesus said: "I have come that you might have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10)
